2019 Met Gala: 12 Musicians Who Rocked the Red Carpet

The Met Gala has a way of bringing out the best and most shocking sides of our favorite stars, and this year’s event was no different. The Gala's theme was "camp," and had stars showing up in their wildest, campy wardrobes - many with references to their favorite films, designers, Barbie dolls, and even furniture. Here are just some of the most notable looks:

Lady Gaga

Gaga started out by turning heads, and it only got more shocking from there. She started in an over-the-top, hot pink gown.

She then stripped down to this sleek, black dress with an umbrella.

Just when we thought we'd seen it all, she stripped down once more to a skintight pink dress, similar in color to her original look.

Suddenly, Gaga was sporting nothing but some undergarments, a pair of fishnets, and some killer, black sparkly boots.

Cardi B

Cardi B's look arguably stole the show. She wore a red Thom Browne gown with a train that took quite a few people to carry just to get her down the carpet. The look was rounded out with a bedazzled cap on her head.

Harry Styles

While many men chose to go for a more laid-back, black tux style, Harry Styles pulled through with one of the more notable outfits of the evening. He wore a black, Gucci outfit with a sheer top and ruffles.

Lizzo

Lizzo's Met Gala debut certainly didn't go unnoticed. The "Like A Girl" singer was dressed in neon pink from head to toe, and even wore a long feathered cape to make the look even more eyecatching. The whole ensemble was a Marc Jacobs original.

Gwen Stefani

This year's red carpet looks were all about the long, pooling trains. Gwen Stefani showed up in what appears to be a bedazzled leotard, complete with a white, furry coat and long train that floats around her feet.

Halsey

Halsey's two-piece red gown certainly turned some heads, but what really pulled the look together was her arm full of gold bracelets. Wonder Woman would be proud!

Jared Leto

Here's something you never thought you'd see - Jared Leto carrying his own head. As if the Thirty Seconds to Mars singer wasn't notable enough in his red, silk Gucci gown, he carried a replica of his own head as he entered the Gala.

Janelle Monae

Janelle Monae wears many hats. No, literally. She had four on her head last night. Her Picasso-esque custom Christian Siriano dress, complete with a motorized eye that actually blinks, was the definition of camp. "I am camp. It's in my DNA," she told Vanity Fair just before hitting the red carpet.

Katy Perry

Sure, Katy Perry's chandelier getup was a showstopper at the Gala's beginnings, but did you see what happened next?

Perry was looking like an actual snack upon entering the event, running to the bathroom to make a quick costume change into a burger ensemble.

Kacey Musgraves

Kacey Musgraves rolled up to the Met Gala in typical Barbie fashion - sitting in the back of a hot pink convertible with perfectly coifed blonde locks on display. It's a new look for Musgraves, and fans are here for it.

Florence Welch

We've got another Gucci-made outfit that didn't disappoint. Florence Welch was looking like a fairy queen in her seafoam-and-lilac gown and intricately jeweled shoulder piece.

Celine Dion

Far from the last iconic look that showed up at Monday night's Met Gala, but definitely one to remember. Celine Dion reference Old Hollywood glamour with a custom outfit designed with a leotard-like base complete with hundreds of shimmery threads draping down her body. The look would not be complete without an iconic headpiece.
