Man Stabbed to Death Over Popeyes Chicken Sandwich

November 5, 2019

A man was stabbed to death at a Maryland Popeyes following an argument that started while waiting in line for the fast food chain’s re-released spicy chicken sandwich, according to police.

The 28-year-old male victim was stabbed outside the restaurant, CNN reports.

The argument that began in the restaurant escalated into a physical altercation that ended up outside, where the stabbing occurred, according to Prince George’s County Police spokeswoman Jennifer Donelan.

The police say the argument seems to have been over someone cutting in line.

Police on the scene attempted to resuscitate the victim with lifesaving measures. The man transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Officers are still trying to locate the suspect.

"We are looking for a male, and that male knows who he is," Donelan said. "He knows what he did here tonight, and he needs to do the right thing and he needs to step up and turn himself in."

"For you to get that angry over anything ... and to develop into this type of violence, again, is a very sad and tragic day," Donelan said.
