COVID-19 data shows cases increased in every parish

Louisiana has seen a recent spike in COVID-19 cases in nearly every parish in the state.

According to data analytic website, USAFacts.org, only 19 of Louisiana’s 64 parishes have confirmed cases less than 2,000 cases reported per 100,000 people tested. USAFacts’ interactive map breaks down the data numbers parish-by-parish.

The latest numbers from the Louisiana Department of Health released Tuesday, show a reported 1,121 new cases, 26 deaths, and 17 less hospitalizations.

According to LDH statewide numbers 111,038 cases were reported, 3,700 deaths, 214 patients on ventilators, and 1,276,304 tests performed.

Louisiana remains in an extended Phase 2 because of recent spikes in cases. Governor John Bel Edwards is expected to give a press conference today at 4:00 p.m. to discuss the latest COVID-19 numbers.
