Edwards: No announcement on Phase 3 today

Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards said Tuesday afternoon that there is no update to announce today on whether the state advances to Phase Three of easing coronavirus pandemic restrictions at the end of the week, stays in Phase Two, or modifies the restrictions in some other way.

The governor said an announcement will be coming soon, "perhaps as early as tomorrow," he said.

"I will have my gating criteria meeting later this afternoon," Edwards said, "and we also have a White House Coronavirus Task Force call tomorrow, and we're waiting for their weekly update on state-specific data and recommendations."

The governor's current executive order on phase two, bar closures, and mask wearing expires Friday.
