In-classroom learning resumes in New Orleans for younger stu

Pre-K through 4th grade students at New Orleans public schools will go back to their classrooms starting Monday.

"We are just a few days away from our youngest learners being reunited with their teachers in school buildings," said NOLA Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Henderson Lewis.

Dr. Lewis says health and safety remain their top priority, but the relevant numbers they wanted to see in the pandemic have been in the envelope.

The return to classrooms will be phased in from September 14 through September 25.

New Orleans students have been in virtual class, starting the school year last month via distance learning.
