LSU president: If you don't have game tickets, please don't

While state officials are cautiously optimistic there will be some form of limited-capacity fan attendance at LSU games this fall, tailgating before the game may be off-limits to a lot of people.

Tens of thousands of people flood LSU's campus on game days, even if they do not have tickets to the game itself. But LSU Interim President Thomas Galligan warns that is not a good idea while the pandemic is still active.

"If we can have fans, we are probably going to urge a lot of the people who do not have tickets to the games to not come to the campus," Galligan warned.

For the games themselves, Galligan says even if they have to limit Tiger Stadium to 30-50 percent of its maximum capacity, they're hopeful that at least some fans will get a seat in Death Valley.

"The wonderful thing about football is that it is outside and we know that this virus does not survive as well outside as it does inside," Galligan said.
