Orgeron: LSU focused on keeping players safe during workouts

LSU's football team is back on campus and participating in voluntary workouts. Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron told Bobby Hebert on WWL's Sports Talk that he's taking steps to try and protect players from COVID-19.

"I think we're just about as well prepared as anybody in the country," Orgeron said. "We brought our players in a week ahead of time and it was just dedicated to COVID-19 testing...

"I think these guys were really really on top of their game before our players came and we have not had an issue that we can't handle yet."

Orgeron said that so far players have participated in individual drills like throwing and catching, but not 7-on-7s, 1-on-1s or full team drills.

LSU players are also lifting weights in groups.

The team's official Twitter account posted a video showing the methods the strength and conditioning staffs were using to clean the equipment.
