Report: At least 30 LSU football players isolated

Dozens of LSU football players may have been exposed to coronavirus and are in isolation now according to a Sports Illustrated source.

"At least one-quarter of LSU’s football team was in quarantine this week because of virus-related concerns," SI reported.

The report says that LSU athletic department officials refused to comment Saturday due to medical privacy laws.

It comes a day after Louisiana health officials reported a cluster of cases centered around the popular Tigerland bars near LSU.

The Louisiana Department of Health reported:

  • The Louisiana Department of Health can confirm an outbreak connected to multiple Tigerland bars in Baton Rouge, La. The Department has received at least 100 reports of patrons and staff testing positive for COVID-19.
  • Anyone who visited Tigerland bars over the weekend should consider themselves exposed to COVID-19 and should self-quarantine for 14 days and monitor for symptoms.
